What to do at the Villa Roassieux

Cedars, birches, hornbeams, a huge hundred-year-old chestnut tree, box and holly plants provide a green natural setting. The garden is deliciously fragrant and perfumed with floral scent : beds of roses, lavenders, peonies, honeysuckles, clematis, iris flowers, phlox, rhododendrons and hydrangeas. This is truly a haven of peace and tranquillity.

An outdoor heated salt water swimming pool (9,50 m x 3,50 m / 374″ x 138″) with an automatic safety cover and counter-current swimming system is at your disposal from May to September. Terrasse with deck chairs and armchairs. You will find all sorts of books and magazines (in French) in the library : art, detective and crime novels, history, philosophy, comic strips… Books, guides and maps of the Rhône-Alpes, Forz and Auvergne regions will help you to prepare your hiking or walking trips and visits.

Ping-pong, games, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards…

The Villa Rossieux is within 10-15 minutes walking or driving distance of major St. Etienne landmarks. It is handy for bus, shops, and to all amenities. Museum, City of Design, the Geoffroy Guichard stadium, Opera, Zenith.

The best places to visit : hiking and walking in the Regional Natural Pilat Park, the Gouffre d’enfer dam, Rochetaillée village, Ste Croix Chartreuse, cycling, climbing, St-Victor sur Loire, the gorges of the Loire river, the hat museum in Chazelles-sur-Lyon, Gallo-Roman museum in St Romain en Gal, the pétanque boules in St Bonnet le Château, St Martin la Plaine zoo, cities of Lyon or Le Puy-en-Velay.
